Apologies for the state of this blog in recent days; my host is having technical problems. The message about decreased site performance says that it is due to a “network connectivity issue” and they are working hard to resolve it. They may be working hard but it seems they are working slowly. I also have a busy few weeks ahead so I think it’s a good time to take a partial break from writing and, for a time, I will be publishing fewer posts.
On Non-League Day, I took a break from the anxieties of following Birmingham City. I went to watch Redditch United play Poole Town at the Valley and really enjoyed it. There was no segregation; you could sit, stand or walk around. Parents could bring pushchairs into the ground and didn’t have to try to confine small children to just one area of the stadium. A small but vocal group of Poole Town fans stood behind a goal and moved to the other end at half time. So they got a close up view of the second half penalty that won the game for them. I enjoyed the game too. It was my first experience of non-league football but it won’t be my last. I’ve put some pictures of the day on flickr.
I will not be taking a break from caring about my team and will be at Andrew’s on Saturday for the game with Leeds despite the ridiculous kick off time of 12.15.
