Two wins

BC Ladies UEFA qf teamThis week started well for Birmingham City; the women beat Arsenal Ladies at St Andrew’s on Monday and the men beat Millwall at The Den on Tuesday. I hadn’t been to a Birmingham City Ladies game before and the game on Monday was the ideal opportunity to rectify that.  It was at St Andrews and was an important game, the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final.    Continue reading

All is not lost

The title of this is the concluding statement in Colin Tattum’s video interview1, recorded after Birmingham City’s loss on Saturday. I agree with him that there were some positives in the way the team played.  I wish that I could also agree that if they continue to play with the same attitude and determination they will be ok this season.  Tatts said that he saw no fear in the players’ eyes but if he looked into mine he’d see it.  Continue reading

Some thoughts ahead of the Millwall game

My flat has been rather untidy recently with scarves scattered around together with bags to carry them in, sample polythene envelopes to consider for posting them and various bits of paper with notes about them.  Yesterday evening I had a tidy up and the room looked much better after I’d put everything into the cartons in which the scarves had arrived. This morning a photographer from the Mail arrived to take some photos of the scarves so I had to get some back out of the box and the clutter has returned.  I’m hoping the Mail will carry an article about the scarves tomorrow and that it helps to boost the number sold around the ground before the Millwall game. In addition to my other reasons for wanting them sold, it would help to reduce the clutter in my living room. Continue reading
