It is a pity that Sunday’s game is probably going to be remembered for the clappers that were used as missiles rather than for anything that happened on the pitch.  Clappers, inflatables, big flags and flames are not necessary to create an atmosphere at a Birmingham City versus Aston Villa game; you only need the fans. End of season thoughts

A rather odd headline on a Charlton site caught my eye: it said, “The race for ninth place hots up.”  Maybe it’s a way of dealing with a mid table finish. If the last few games of the season lack any possibility of relegation or promotion you can create your own excitement by thinking of your team as racing to a mid table position. Continue reading

Hope

As I was browsing the The Two Unfortunates site I read an article in their Hopeless Football League Teams series  and had a feeling that Birmingham City had probably been featured in that  sometime.  Sure enough, when I checked earlier articles, I found an account of Birmingham City’s 1993-94 season.  It brought back a lot of memories.  Continue reading
