Project Restart

I have just read Project Restart: From Prem to the Parks, How Football Came Out of Lockdown. It includes case-studies of how nine teams fared during lockdown: Burnley, Swansea, Tranmere, Forest Green, Solihull Moors, Royston Town, Northumberland Park, Stonewall and St Albans City Girls. These were chosen to represent a spread of clubs from the Premier League down to grassroots football.  They were also chosen from the clubs that the author could get information on; many football media teams were inaccessible.

    Thanks for this, Margaret. Unlike Hugging Strangers, it’s not Blues related, although there is a short chapter about us and our catastrophic post-lockdown performance. It’s a living history – from March to September – of how the game adapted, coped and just about survived. Voices from all sorts of people – managers, CEOs, supporters’ trusts, voluntary workers and a bunch more. I hope people enjoy it as much as they seem to have done with Hugging Strangers – which is selling well and so will make, I hope, a significant contribution to the Geoff Horsfield Foundation.
