Late goals

Birmingham City players conceded two late goals in both games played on Saturday.  It was disappointing but not devastating in the Under-23s game because Blues had already scored four goals and beat Colchester  4-2.  Kyle McFarlane scored three of those goals and Richard Beale said he “took his chances well. He’s got lots of pace and he can finish, so I was really pleased for him.” I was glad to read that as I had thought McFarlane looked good but know I’m biased. I think players start looking good when they put on a Blues shirt.

Nottingham Forrest’s two late goals were devastating.  We were still celebrating Che Adam’s goal when their first went in.  Exaltation turned into apprehension.  As we asked ourselves if we could concede another one, I think we all knew that we could and, of course, we did and ended up with one point instead of three. I’ve calmed down now and am trying to remember the positives.  We scored two away goals, which doubled our goal tally for the season and we are still just above the relegation zone, not in it.

I don’t have any analysis or advice to offer. I know that I know less about football than Garry Monk does and I trust him.  He seems to be doing a good job of lifting the morale of the team and that’s an important part of a manager’s job. He has also improved their performance on the pitch so I keep trusting that we will get a win soon.

i have said on several forums that despite all the doom and gloim off the pitch but on it we are definately heading in the right direction. We are playing decent football and the results will come. Monk has got the team spirit looking good and i would imagine in the dressing room he would be saying ‘ unlucky lads but we we are so close to getting the results we are desperate for’.
Gary Monk is working miracles with both arms tied behind his back. He is so close to getting the results the performances deserve. Yes there wlill be supporters saying same old story but what they should realise is that if we wasnt playing welk, creating chances then is the time to worry.

Totally agree such a far cry from 2 shots on goal under Steve Cotterill. Forest had a week off and should’ve been fresher. We dominated the game against one of the promotion favourites this season. The football was really good for 70+ minutes.

We are far better than last year ….we actually pass to the same colour shirts on occasion this year…..Monk is the best chance we have of progressing with our money troubles and hopefully he can keep us up until we can regroup without FFP etc …… Anyone seen Ren lately?

Agreed we a blues supporters and we KRO that meanns getting behind the team and manager. The lads are playing good football it’s not been an easy start. Playing Norwich Swansea Middlesbrough and forest. Bolton had to score with a helping hand (literally) other than that we have outplayed most with the exception of Brough. How many of us would have taken a draw before most of them games. We are looking good and results will change so yeah KRO.
